Lufthansa Technik, the Hamburg maintenance arm of the Lufthansa Group, runs AVIATAR, a digital platform whose AI predicts component failures and monitors aircraft condition across fleets.
With more than 10,000 staff, it sells AVIATAR modules including Predictive Health Analytics, Condition Monitoring, an electronic technical logbook, AI examination of repeat defects and line-maintenance planning optimisation. It says more than 40 customers with over 5,000 aircraft use the platform.
LATAM uses Predictive Health Analytics and the technical logbook across more than 300 aircraft, and Air Transat took the full ecosystem for 43 aircraft in 2025. Frontier became the first US carrier to sign for the complete system in December 2025, and United has co-developed 737 NG use cases since 2021.

Lufthansa Technik AVIATAR modules for Frontier Airlines, including AI-based Technical Repetitives Examination
Lufthansa Technik said on 15 December 2025 that Frontier Airlines had decided to add Predictive Health Analytics, Condition Monitoring and the AI-based Technical Repetitives Examination to its AVIATAR suite.
That makes Frontier the first US airline to use products from Lufthansa Technik's entire Digital Tech Ops ecosystem, according to the company.
Air Transat has signed an agreement with Lufthansa Technik and will implement the full AVIATAR digital tech ops ecosystem across its 43 Airbus A321 and A330 aircraft, Lufthansa Technik said on 3 July 2025. It will be the first North American airline on the full ecosystem.
LATAM Airlines Group signed a multi-year contract with Lufthansa Technik covering more than 300 Airbus A320, Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft, Lufthansa Technik announced on 8 April 2025. LATAM is using AVIATAR's Predictive Health Analytics, along with its Electronic Technical Log.
According to AirPro News, the platform uses machine learning that adapts to each fleet's patterns. Full fleet rollout has not been confirmed.
Lufthansa Technik's Condition Monitoring and Prediction offerings for the 737 NG were co-created with United Airlines in a partnership that began in early 2021, Lufthansa Technik said on 25 April 2022. United has brought condition-monitoring and predictive-maintenance alerting for its 737 NG and A319/A320 fleets into a single platform, the release says.
