Collins Aerospace

Air Traffic Management

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, supplies avionics, airport IT and data services, with AI in its Ascentia predictive maintenance and FlightAware Foresight arrival predictions.

With about 80,000 staff, it also makes InteliSence cabin analytics and ARINC SelfPass biometrics; its conventional avionics and airport networks are not counted as AI here. Ascentia predicts component failures and manages repeat defects and aircraft-on-ground events, and Foresight uses machine learning to estimate arrival times.

Qatar Airways chose Ascentia for its Boeing 787 fleet in November 2025. At Tokyo Haneda (HND) Collins supplied the kiosks, bag drops and gates for the Face Express biometric system, running on NEC's face recognition, and it trialled SelfPass at Bristol (BRS).

Collins has owned FlightAware, the Houston flight-tracking company behind Foresight, since 2021.
