BEUMER Group, a family-owned German engineering company from Beckum, builds airport baggage handling and sortation systems.
Founded in 1935 with more than 6,000 staff, it makes the CrisBag tote system, which tracks every bag through the airport, tilt-tray sorters, early-bag storage and self bag drop, all controlled by its BEUMER Flow software. It has not verified AI claims beyond data-driven maintenance and digital twins.
Oslo (OSL) runs a BEUMER system with condition-based maintenance driven by equipment data, and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) upgraded hold-baggage screening with 80 CT machines. London Heathrow (LHR) has contracted a BEUMER Flow digital twin of its Terminal 2 baggage system.

EDS Standard 3 hold-baggage screening at Paris-Charles de Gaulle
Charles de Gaulle received 80 EDS Standard 3 machines across 15 baggage systems, and Orly about 20 across six, in a EUR 500 million programme, according to an undated interview with Groupe ADP published by BEUMER. The new machines take 70 seconds per bag, against 18 seconds for the previous standard, the interview said.
Air Journal gave different figures on 18 March 2024: 102 machines installed, 83 at Charles de Gaulle and 19 at Orly, with the last due at Terminal 2A in July 2025.
BEUMER said on 11 January 2024 that it had the contract for Heathrow's new Terminal 2 baggage system, designed for 31,000 bags a day.
BEUMER said the Terminal 2 upgrade would soon use its Flow Twin digital twin, Airport World reported on 22 April 2025. Heathrow said on 19 December 2025 that construction would start in 2026.
