Expansion of immigration e-gates at Cancún Terminals 3 and 4
Quintana Roo governor Mara Lezama announced in May 2026 that Cancún's immigration e-gates would be expanded with the National Institute of Migration, Trámites Migratorios Cancún reported on 14 May 2026. Terminal 3 was to go from 16 to 20 automated filters and Terminal 4 to 20 e-gates.
The Cancun Sun reported on 16 May 2026 that the 40 e-gates would be split evenly between the two terminals. They were for travellers aged 18 or over with an e-passport valid for at least 180 days, and a QR-coded receipt was to replace the paper tourist card. This is reported and has not been verified.
