Reagan National built a queue model instead of buying another display
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority's Queue Hub uses machine learning to support airport passenger-flow decisions at Reagan National and Dulles. It is an airport-developed operations tool with a named public owner.

The operating setting
Security waits are the visible end of several interacting flows: curbside arrivals, terminal access and checkpoint capacity. A shared forecasting layer can bring these signals into one operating picture. A forecast has limited value unless someone acts on it.
CIO described MWAA's in-house Queue Hub in June 2025, while the authority has explained its AI work publicly. What remains unclear is the marginal gain over conventional flow forecasting. The operating benefit of a queue forecast depends on lead time: an alert received after staff and lanes are already committed to the current rush is little more than another description of congestion.

The operational problem
Operational teams need enough warning to adjust resources before queues form.
What the sources report
MWAA's Queue Hub was reported as an in-house machine-learning and AI platform connected to agency systems and used at Reagan National and Dulles.
Why it matters
Unlike a generic AI announcement, the software is associated with a defined airport operator and scheduling problem.
What remains unproven
Airport-specific forecast error, actions taken and measured wait reductions are not independently established.
The wider register below keeps any other recorded technology separate from this selected operational story. Its source and status should be assessed independently.

Aerostack assessment
The next audit should ask which operational decisions changed because Queue Hub predicted a peak.
The published sources remain available alongside the underlying implementation record; claimed results should retain their original attribution.

Aerostack register · 1 tracked deployment
Aerostack tracks AI deployments across airports and airlines, with the published evidence behind each record. Photography is real aviation imagery. Record thumbnails may show the named airport or airline; other photographs do not.
