Porto's biometric passenger experience is an operator-led rollout

ANA and VINCI Airports introduced Biometric Experience at Porto and Lisbon in 2024. The project is confirmed at group level; its airport-specific operating effects require evidence.

The local operating picture

Airports can offer a face-based passage through selected touchpoints, but not every traveller will use it.

VINCI Airports and ANA announced the Biometric Experience programme in January 2024, with Vision-Box named as supplier in trade coverage.

The joint rollout should not be taken as evidence that every airport touchpoint is biometric-enabled.

The operational problem

Passenger teams need eligible travellers to move through identity checks without creating an inaccessible alternative route.

Why it matters

The buyer-led description establishes the programme with clearer provenance than marketing speculation.

What remains unproven

Independent Porto-specific enrolment, matching accuracy and processing-time gains have not been disclosed.
