Tashkent tracks passenger movement but does not yet prove forecasting AI

Pax Track began at Tashkent in August 2024. The monitoring system can show movement, but its published description does not independently demonstrate predictive modelling.

The picture at Tashkent

The operating and procurement record

Terminal operators need to know where a passenger queue starts rather than only how many people are checked in.

Observation is not prediction. Passenger movement data can be valuable as soon as it tells a supervisor where congestion has started. A more ambitious AI claim would require evidence that the system forecasts pressure early enough to change the resources deployed at a particular checkpoint.

UzDaily described Tashkent deploying passenger monitoring and flow tracking.

Useful sensing data is not synonymous with verified machine-learning optimisation.

Tashkent tracks passenger movement but does not yet prove forecasting AI

The operational problem

Airport teams need timely counts they can compare across processing areas.

What the sources report

The launch account names Pax Track at Tashkent in August 2024.

Why it matters

The use case could support future forecasting and staffing.

What remains unproven

Current algorithmic functions, coverage and measured waiting-time changes are not verified.

UzDaily · Evidence grade B

Evidence supports a reported claim; it does not automatically establish a measured operating benefit.

Editorial assessment

Tashkent's tracking system may be useful for planning even if it only observes movement. The distinction between measurement and forecasting should remain explicit.

Aerostack tracks AI deployments across airports and airlines, with the published evidence behind each record. Photography is real aviation imagery. Record thumbnails may show the named airport or airline; other photographs do not.
