The picture at Aberdeen International
Small changes at different points in the airport
Aberdeen's recorded AI activity does not amount to a single airport transformation programme. The airport has used Assaia turnaround monitoring, introduced a passenger assistant with Hello Lamp Post and participated in a proposed trial of AI-assisted baggage threat detection.
Each has a separate operational test. Ground teams need an accurate view of work on the stand. Passengers need answers that actually resolve a question. Security staff need detection tools whose performance can be validated under regulation. The sources are stronger on product introduction than on measured benefits.
Two register records describe the Hello Aberdeen assistant from different reporting angles. They should not be counted as two separate products.

01 / Deployed
The turnaround before it becomes a delay
The operational problem
Aircraft handling is spread across tasks that can fall out of sequence without being visible to everyone involved.
What the sources report
Ground Handling International reported Aberdeen's investment in turnaround control using Assaia's ApronAI. The source establishes airport interest in monitoring events but the current register has little detail on the installed stand coverage.
Why it matters
Event visibility is useful if it prompts a handler to intervene before the departure slot is lost.
What remains unprovenNo airport-specific count of active stands or attributable minutes saved is available in the current record.

Evidence supports a reported claim; it does not automatically establish a measured operating benefit.
02 / Deployed
A question answered without finding a desk
The operational problem
Passengers often need practical information at the airport when staffed support is busy or out of reach.
What the sources report
Aberdeen Airport announced its Hello Aberdeen AI-powered assistant with Hello Lamp Post on 15 April 2025, following a Glasgow trial.
Why it matters
The test is whether the assistant gives accurate, useful airport-specific guidance and hands over unresolved queries appropriately.
What remains unprovenResolution, escalation and passenger satisfaction measurements are not established in the published record.

The related Hello ABZ record covers the same assistant and needs reconciliation rather than another featured story. Project DARTMOUTH is a baggage-security technology trial, not a verified operational installation.

Different tools require different evidence
Aberdeen's examples should be judged at the task level. A warning on the stand, a resolved passenger question and a reliable security alert are not interchangeable measures of AI success.
The next worthwhile reporting would establish current turnaround coverage and what passengers actually get from the assistant.
