Delta TechOps

Delta TechOps uses Airbus's Skywise platform to predict component failures on its A320 and A330 fleets. Delta began co-designing Airbus's Prognostic Risk Management programme in 2015, signed a multi-year agreement in 2018 for Skywise Core and Skywise Predictive Maintenance as the first major US carrier to invest in the tool, and expanded the partnership in October 2019, according to Delta TechOps.
The system analyses operations and performance data to estimate the probability that parts will fail, and Delta bench-tests the predicted components to check the forecasts. In 2019 Delta reported a success rate above 95% for pending-failure predictions, and cited a fall in maintenance-related cancellations from more than 5,600 in 2010 to 55 in 2018, an airline-wide figure not attributed to Skywise alone.
Delta's July 2025 letter to US senators says Tech Ops planners are using an AI-enabled tool to predict maintenance needs and improve aircraft availability, which suggests the work continues, though the letter does not name Skywise. Delta has not published savings figures for the programme on its own channels.

Aerostack tracks AI deployments across airports and airlines, with the published evidence behind each record. Photography is real aviation imagery. Record thumbnails may show the named airport or airline; other photographs do not.
