Xiaolan inquiry robots stand at both sides of every check-in island in Lanzhou Zhongchuan's Terminal 3, and new millimetre-wave gates allow contactless security screening, CCTV reported on 20 March 2025.

Behind the scenes, CAAC News reported, an AI security platform combines computer vision, machine learning and big-data analysis. Its AI bird detection and deterrence responds to intrusions in under 15 seconds.

The regional paper Gansu Economic Daily reported on 24 April 2025 that mishandled baggage was down 70%, complaints down 45% and efficiency up 30%.
