flydubai has installed six smart biometric gates from emaratech at its Airport Operations Centre in Dubai, where crew report for their flights, the airline announced on 3 July 2025. flydubai says the gates use biometric technology, AI-driven verification and real-time data integration for immigration clearance.
NEC said on 18 December 2025 that the gates use its NeoFace Express X5 facepods to authenticate crew almost instantly, replacing manual checks with a paperless process linked to flydubai's systems and UAE immigration. The gates serve a workforce that, according to flydubai, includes more than 1,300 pilots and 2,500 cabin crew. Clearance times and daily usage had not been published as of 16 October 2026.
